ESPN
ESPN (Entertainment Sports Program Network), one of the major
sports TV networks in the world, launched a domestic channel in the
UK in August 2009, taking over Premier League coverage from Setanta
Sports. ESPN were keen to understand how sports viewing in pubs
impacts on UK consumers choice of sports viewing at home, and
whether increased coverage of ESPN in pubs up and down the UK would
translate into more home subscriptions for the company. For this,
they turned to SixthSense's syndicated Pub Sports Viewing
report.
Though the original report met most of ESPN's requirements, they
outlined some areas they would like to see explored in more detail.
SixthSense was able to incorporate ESPN's input into the next Pub
Sports Viewing report update. This meant that, in addition to
getting the original single copy report, ESPN received a market
update equipped with brand new insight to help inform their
strategic thinking.
