This report contains new research into occupational and personal
pension saving, into the amounts people save and into the reasons
why individuals refrain from contributing to a pension. Our
research also looks at income expectations in retirement, views on
tax relief and on welfare benefits for pensioners, and opinions
about the companies that provide pensions. We look into public
recognition of some leading pension brand names, and discover which
brands have the highest reputations.
Research findings are put into context, looking at the stream of
pension policy changes emanating from government and at the
responses of pensions companies to political and economic
circumstances. Aviva is worthy of special mention, for not only is
the UK's largest insurance company only too well aware of the
problems in the pensions sector, but it is also working to resolve
them.
