Trust in Financial Services

This report examines the degree of trust consumers have in financial services firms and how trust has been affected by the financial crisis. It looks at how financial services firms as a whole are perceived in an absolute and relative sense and examine the trust levels held in individual finance brands.

Trust is an especially sensitive and important topic in the relationship between consumers and financial services firms because, in many instances, consumers are placing their financial livelihood and wellbeing in the hands of a bank, building society, insurer, finance company or investment firm.

The report examines the following sectors:

  • Current Accounts
  • Mortgages
  • Home Insurance
  • Motor Insurance
  • Life & Health Insurance
  • Pensions
