Beer is now in steady decline, with it's market value declining
by 7% since 2004. Nevertheless, beer remains the leading alcohol
category, with 46% of adults drinking the lager style and 33% the
traditional, indigenous types (ale, stout etc).
Sample findings:
- Lager is the traditional beer of preference in Scotland; the
North of England comes top for the ales and stouts.
- As a brand to recommend to others, Guinness leads the way once
more, while Kronenbourg is the most highly recommended of the
premium lagers.
