Cask Ales
For this report, only beer shipped in casks (barrels) is
considered, excluding 'bottle-conditioned' real ales, although some
reference to major bottled brands will be necessary. The focus on
cask means that the report is mainly about the licensed on-trade
(pubs, clubs, restaurants, etc.), although bottled real ale sold
through supermarkets and off-licences (the off-trade) has been a
growth segment.
