Fish and Seafood
This report examines the UK retail market for fish and seafood
products.
Fish and seafood are an established part of the UK diet and are
valued as being able to make a nutritious and low-fat contribution
to meals. However, the buying base for products is predominantly
among older consumers.
The sector has also suffered from cost-driven inflation and this
has driven up prices in fish and seafood. At the same time there
has been considerable innovation in introducing new, more
convenient and easy-to-use products as well as new varieties of
fish and seafood. This ongoing investment in the sector will
continue to be of key importance.
