The high cost of energy is a major consumer preoccupation and a
key cause of consumer complaint as well as an important factor in
generating fears about their future economic stability.
Although it has not received so much publicity, water and sewage
costs have also risen, thus helping to pile yet more financial
pressure on hard-pressed consumers.
This report looks at how consumers use gas and electricity in
their homes and at their attitudes towards paying for utilities. It
also looks at their perceptions of the major energy companies.
