This April 2012 Online Grocery Shopping report assesses why are
some people more inclined to use online grocery shopping services
than others and assesses whether, and to what extent, online food
shopping complements or replaces store-based food shopping. It also
considers what direction the major players in the market are taking
and assesses how online fits in with their store-based operating
model and whether there is scope for more players to enter the
market.
It should be noted that YouGov SixthSense research was conducted
via an online panel. Although the sample is nationally
representative, given the nature of the subject matter, results are
not indicative of the UK as a whole. Rather they reflect usage
patterns and attitudes among the online community, where, it must
be accepted, usage of online shopping is higher than among the
wider population.
